I was on my way to work about a month ago, when I almost drove off the road after seeing this guy sitting along the side of the road.
I pulled over against a guard rail to shoot out the window of my Jeep while cars were whizzing by between me and the bird.
I know, its a sickness!

Paul, I have the same sickness too :)

Great photo. Love the warm tones. Wish it was bigger to 650 pixels. It's too good to be this small.

Excellent image, but it seems slightly soft on my monitor.

Great image. This bird really looks cold all fluffed up as it is.

Great bird.

Aslo on my monitor it seems a bit soft. I guess you can handle that in the original.

I even like the busy oof branches in the back. They add something to what I can't point a finger to. But nice.

Cheers

Wonderful capture of a very cold bird!!
And don't worry, we are all infected with the same bug!!!

Image:
Great composition, exposure and nice detail, one of those rare times when a busy BG fits the image perfectly with glowing warm tones!!
Wonderful indeed!! Congrats!! 8)

I agree with Alex -- the BG works here. Nice catch and do be careful, sometimes that sickness can get you in trouble.
Bird does look a touch soft.

Sounds like your adrenaline was flowing but the hawk looks totally unaffected by all of the activity. The background colors are very complementary to the colors of the bird. Very nice shot!!
