Marbled Godwit Limosa fedoa
La Jolla

Another image from my close encounter with the sand feeder. This bird really looks quite happy with its bill covered with sand. Cropped 10%.
N90s, 500mm f/4P, Bogen 3021/BH-1/sidekick, Provia 100F

Almost looks like he's smiling at you around the sand on his bill. Excellent capture of the behavior. :D

Very tight and interesting view of this godwit. Good shooting with you that bright day. I thought the sandy bill would ruin the portrait, but it added.
