This one has been resident the last two winters. Skulking in the brush makes photos difficult but bird seed brings it out of cover. The Yellow eye is the hallmark. Extended the upper border some, softened BG.

Ken

The background color goes really well with this bird. Great colors all the way around.

I saw some of these at Pawnee last summer but couldn't get within a mile of them. I'll have to try the seed trick.

This is a wonderful image of this bird. One I would love to have in my files. :D

Ken, a fine monochromatic image. Great earth tones. It's unusual for me to say this, but I wish for a tiny bit more room all around.

:D :D :D This is absolutely superb, Ken. Everything about it is eyestopping. Is this the bird that was spotted at the Arboretum. (not sure if I spelled that right) :?

Killer morsel!!!

Image:
I think it is a wonderful catch, wonderful light and excellent exposure, complimentary BG is a bonus, bright/sharp yellow eye is wonderful, perch is also a plus, Maybe a little more room all around like Sandy says!!
Congrats!! 8) 8) 8)

I think the colors are wonderful and I don't mind at all the tight framing.
Excellent!
