Royal Terns at Fantasia State Park if memory serves, about 5 minutes from the St. Augustine Aligator Farm.

All through florida I saw Royal terns bickering, they can't be young begging, right? I figured it was some odd mating ritual behavior, it was great to observe. Times like this being able to back up might have been nice, but I think I did my best with the fixed 400. Comments & Crits welcome.

The orange bills provide an excellent focal point for the image. The tightness works well with this one.

They appear to be fledglings to me. The one on the left definitely looks to be begging. Very nice shot of this behavior. Thanks for contributing to this week's motif. :)

Nice shot. I've seen this action with Royal Terns quite a few times and always wondered what the ritual meant. Generally the bird on the right moves away and the other bird follows it. The sequence repeats many times between the birds. Fascinating.

I have an almost identical shot, only without the BG birds. I take the bird on the left to be immature and begging. This is a begging posture that the fledglings perform when the adults return to the beach. The yellowish splotches on the left birds legs lean toward immature bird, also. Nice shot by the way. Love the low angle.
