Godwits are among my very favorite shorebirds and you certainly captured a nice one here :) The reaised leg adds a lot to the photo.

John Fortner wrote:Very nice Lana. You weren't wearing a Nebraska sweatshirt by any chance were you? I was there Sunday morning talking to Jay when you came up? I went back up to McD's then came back from through the fragmites(sp?). I only got this bird in the ugly stuff. Did you get anything on the buff-breasted?
John

OK....the next time I'm there and there are photographers I'm going to take roll for NSN. Yes....I had on the Nebraska sweatshirt. No....the Buff-Breasted hit the road....never to be seen the rest of the day. However, a nice Black Bellied Plover flew in at the very end of the day.

Well done Lana. Makes the trip worth it when you bring one like this home. I would love to have this one.

There is really nothing I don't like about this. I especially like the drop at the end of the beak. :)
