I can see why Richard. Love all the warm tones, the placement in the frame. The bird looks great. I actually like the few leaves in front of the bird.

Wonderful shot of a normally difficult situation. The soft light is what makes this work so much better than most shots of this kind.

I like this shot too. It's nice to have enough environmental detail to allow being able to imagine the entire scene as viewed by the photographer.

The unified direction of the branches helps keep this from looking cluttered. The leaves add a nice environmental feel. Excellent shot!!

Hawk waiting in ambush!!!

Image:
Well, ever so rare to see so many potentially conflicting elements working in unison and to perfection, the composition could not be better even if unplanned, the lower left to upper right flowing branches gives me a tree into fall with it's brown leaves days away from falling, the hawk looking down at possible pray and partially hidden by a twig with leaves, a true slice of a bird in his habitat, in fall colors and in ambush mode!!
Excellent!! 8) 8) 8)

Well done Richard. It's unfortunate about the leaves directly in front of the hawk.

I really like the softness of the light and the warm color of the tree wrapped around it. Very nice.

The warm colors and wintery feel are great. I would love it even more if the hawk was facing the camera. This is different and nice as is.
