Savannah Sparrow

D1x, 600f4, 1.4x, iso 200, 1/500, f7.1, about 25% crop.

This sparrow was recently photographed near Merritt Island, Florida. I followed this bird for about 20 yards as it walked along along a muddy bank foraging for seeds. Critiques and comments, especially concerning id, appreciated.

Nice exposure and flash work, a hair soft in my monitor but not too bad, BG is not ideal and very untypical for the little birds, The little ones fit better perched in branches, let them be bare or on the Alan's special rigs!!

Alex made a good point about the setting. However....I'd take any shot of one of these that I could get. Nice feeding action.....just needs a touch more USM.
