This shot was taken in rough seas on a pelagic trip out of Cape Hatteras.

The "runny nose" is typical of the tubenoses, part of a mechanism they use to rid their system of excess salt.

Very nice composition. I really like the under the wing look from this bird.

Lovely image and angle, but it appears a bit soft. I must be a tubenose, 'cause my nose drips quite a bit.

Cool bird! Having tried to shoot on a pelagic trip I can imagine how tough it was to get this shot. I like the underwing look also and great that there is just that hair of separation between the wing and head. I rather like the low contrast because it makes me think of a typically foggy ocean day.

Harold, what a great accomplishment getting a shot like this. I too would add contrast and maybe throw in a small catchlight to make this just pop. Great photo.

How'd you do that? Amazing detail for such a close up flight shot.

Wonderful and different shot Harold. I like this a lot and I agree a slight contrast boost would put it over the top!! 8) 8) :)

Well shot! I would like to see it with more contrast but this does give the feel of a foggy day at sea.

Strong composition. Just need a touch more "pop" IMHO.
