An old shot, and an old JPEG, from my one trip to La Jolla, in 1999, and another monitor check. I'd do a new scan and JPEG, but I'm running late this evening. La Jolla, CA, EOS-1n, Canon 600 f4L (non IS), 1/750, f5.6 (ambient, Sunny 16), Velvia at 80 and pushed one stop.

Great Peli!!!

Image:
Great capture and exposure, excellent detail although on my CRT (0.24 Dot Pitch aperture) looks slightly over sharpened (on 0.26 or 0.28 may look pretty normal) wonderful colors to boot, nice pose and great preening action!! 8)

Velvia colors rock!! This is awesome. Brightness looks good. I agree - maybe a little oversharpened as presented.

Beautiful Velvia-saturated image, Cliff. Perhaps a hair oversharpened.

What a colorful shot with nice action. On second look....perhaps a tad oversharpened....then again, I had to look twice. I just couldn't get past those glorious colors.

Stunning, and saturated to my taste. You chose the right pose for sure with this one!

When I look in this forum I always look for pelican and flamingos first. I think you've "raised the bar" for the pelican images! This is wonderful!
