Hello to all in this forum! :D

I shot this Black-bellied Plover this weekend at Mustang Island State Park on the bay side. Because of recent rains & high tides ingress and egress into the park is just a little hairy due to deep mud.

Bruce Sherman and myself had a great weekend shooting there. I usually see many White Morph Reddish Egrets, but not this weekend.

Instead, I found this Black-bellied Plover beautifying the landscape. I took this shot from my vehicle.

I'm posting from a laptop so please let me know if the color looks right.

Thanks,
Pete

A nice shot, especially with the reflection. The only improvement I would like to see is to alter the shooting angle just slightly so that the mud bar at the bottom is not visible.

Nice shot, Pete. The colors look good to me but the whites are a bit hot. IMO the reflection of the land and bird breaks up this image too much. I'd consider cropping above the reflected land.

Welcome Pete, Sharp and a cool bird (but a bit hot on the whites as mentioned) Both suggested crops would improve the image, but I'd go with Sandy's suggestion to crop to a horizontal.

Welcome Pete and nice first post. I agree with the other's commentaries and suggested crop. I am familiar with the mud there ;)

Nothing to add except that the light is warm and exposure a bit bright for me. Nice to see that you found this BBP still in such good breeding plumage.

Pete,
Glad to see you posting here. I agree with the comments about the whites, and Sandy's comments about the crop.
When are we going to see that RE?

A cool bird....I saw my first this weekend. I like the inclusion of the habitat. As you know, the whites are a bit hot and I think the crop that Sandy suggested would be excellent. A wonderful first post....hope to see many more.
