Although I probably didn't intend to let the shutter speed drop quite this low, I'm very happy with the final effect. :D

Tripod mounted Nikon D1H, 500mm F4.0 AFS, ISO 200, Aperture Priority, 1/100 @ F6.3. Full width and made 5:2.

Eagle man! Sharp where it counts and the implied motion is great! Can't wait till February!

Like the effect of the wing blur and the bird's intent expression catches my attention. The photo seems a little oversharpened but that may be due to the feather patterns and highlights more than sharpening (?)

I'd be inclined to move the bird to the left ever so slightly to clip a bit more off the right wing. The effect is very wonderful. I also like your choice of a pano crop.

Tony, Very nice Baldie :D , I am heading to Anchorage on the 28th , I won't have the luxury of the little old lady feeding frozen fish to the birds, but if I get a decent chance with one of these bird, I'll rip them to shreds!!
BTW, Nice of you to participate, don't forget to comment as well!!
Let's make NatureScapes fly like an Eagle!!

Tony,

I can see why you are very happy with this image, the extreme blur on the wing brings my right to the Eagle's head. Excellent sense of motion and action, and tack sharp on the head. Sweet image!
