Last week a few of us were laying on our bellies in the mud of Jamaca bay photographing a group of black-bellied plovers when a small group of 4 or 5 godwits came in for a brief couple of minutes before a peregrine falcon came through and put everyone up in the air. As a huge raptor fan I can honestly say that that is the only time I have ever been sorry to see a peregrine come on the scene

Hi Jim, Well done. I did not get to see those guys... But I did see a bit too much of the Peregrine. Was this guy finishing up his bath? The blue here looks a bit too rich and saturated...
Best, and great seeing you there, Artie

Jim,

This is a different type of photo than we usualy see from you.

I would crop out the dark area at the bottom. Love the water drops and the wing spread. Like how the wings devide the two tone BG. Great action.

Nice shot, Jim. The three BG gradations are interesting.

I don't doubt that the color isn't as acurate as I usually try to be. I was trying to "tweak" my monitor using the seperate color gun controls using my spyder and have been having trouble ever since  . Right now I'm trying to get back to the settings I had before as I should have left well enough alone!

Nice shot (I like the water droplets), but I tend to agree that the blue looks a little saturated.

Nice action, Jim.
That peregrine blew through before I had a chance at one of these godwits. Wished I had a gun  (just kidding!)
I agree about the blues.

Jim,

Wow! Love it! Looks like he's dancing on water. Love the outstretched wings and water drops flying all over the place. Very nice!

Great shot of the bird and action! But as it displays the blue is just too neon to let me study the bird. I'll bet the original is really cool!

Very cool shot and quite different from the traditional Marbled Godwit photograph.

Nice catch, feels a bit oversaturated (Velvia like) to me. Godwits keep aluding me, I was there yesterday and a nice birder lady told me, that I just missed a Hudsonian by a few minutes. :(

Nice shot! For me this is a case where a slightly higher angle might have kept the entire bird in that incredible blue water for better separation from the background. Still a terrific shot though.

A great action shot....but I think the blue is too saturated. They are a fascinating bird to watch.

Great catch of the action! The blues might be a bit much for my tastes, too.

Great action Jim. It's actually kind of funny hearing you mention being sorry to see the raptor

A wonderfully unique image that's well done as usual. I'm not positive I like the way the bird's wings separate the blue and the brown the way it does. Still this is a great capture of the action.
