There were some comments in my last post about using a lower shooting angle. I've been trying lately to include more of the surroundings in my images, to give more of a sense of "place", so the slighly higher shooting angle was on purpose. However, the way these guys move around, all angles become possible sooner or later, so here is a low angle image.

This is excellent. The light and detail in the eye are superb. I love the arc of the perch.

Neil,

This is outstanding.

The balance of the photo is excellent. The light and colors are beautiful. Wonderful detail and sharpness. This is one of the nicest photos I've seen in a while.

Very nice capture of the bird, and the shells around it give plenty of "sense of place," so I don't feel you've given up anything by emphazing the bird here.

Neil,
I like pretty much everything about this image. The perch, composition, background, over the shoulder look and the crossed legs! Great shot.

Neil,
I love the low angle you used. It really shows the bird off. The perch really makes this shot for me.

Very nice, Neil. There really is a great sense of place here - the mounded shells are just fabulous (and the bird is pretty good too ;) ).

Very nice. Good choice of focusing point and I love the composition. If the tail was I little higher we'd be looking for a Buttman reaction.
