Taken in my backyard, crested pigeons are a common bird that has prospered since European invasion. They are a flighty bird and sometimes hard to get close too. Peregian falcons love to snack on them. When flying they sound like they have rusty wings that need oiling.

Neat shot, Wayne. Love the eye contact and the red feet. The crest ain't bad either.

As with most of the Australian bird shots, I love the colors. Great pose and what a cool looking bird. 8)

A very colorful bird, wish we had them locally. Perhaps a bit of fill flash would separate it from the shadows.

What an amazing Pigeon Wayne! Ours have the red feet and body colouring pretty much the same as this - but that crest is something else!! Always good to see something different and I love the close up and head on side pose here. 8) :)

Cool bird..I agree, you're lucky to have all the colorful birds.
I fill flash might have helped.

If our pigeons looked like this I'd take a lot more pigeon shots. Even the background has nice color.

Wayne, other than a little softness a good shot of a unique bird.

Nice pose and I like the erect crest. Looks a little dark and contrasty to me.
