Imm. Herring Gull
Image
10D, 1-4IS, f9, 1/800, ISO200

Just a little crop from the top and right, sharpening and a little shadow reduction in PS.

One of my only bird shots from my last trip to Acadia NP last summer. Gulls were feeding on the tidal flats, picking up mussels and dropping them to crack them open. Wind out of the west at sunset provided much needed illumination and lovely color.

Look at those feathers under the wing and that lovely fan tail. Excellent job in capturing flight. :D

Well done. The light and detail are super. I like your crop, too.

Excellent, Matt. Great wing and tail position and detail. The catchlight is oh so important.

Very nice shot, Matt -- I really like the wing position and all the feather detail you've captured here.
