(Ring-bill Gull, Scioto River, Columbus Ohio)
Nikon D100, Nikkor AF 80-200mm f/2.8D ED-IF, 200mm (EF 300mm), Cloudy -1, 40% of full frame (DOH!)

I'm very happy with the position I captured this gull in. The problem is that I had to crop this so much that it is virtually unsuable for anything other than the web.

Also, do gulls sometimes tuck their feet so that they're hidden? I didn't notice it until after I processed this photo, but I can't see its feet.

Scott, this is my favorite of yours so far. The wings are outstanding and the face is razor sharp. His undercarriage is stowed away :)

Scott, this is really well done. Too bad it's such a healthy crop.

Nice, crisp sharpness even with the heavy crop. I love the wing position. This is my favorite of this series so far too. :D

Sensational, Scott. The wing position could't be better. Excellent DOF and control of the whites.

Scott, Simply magnificent capture of this Ring-billed. Since I'm sure he's got a couple of feet, my guess is aerodynamic reason for tucking them. I love this!!! :D :D
