Glorietta Bay- Coronado 1-8-04

After meeting up with Jim Urbach we tried to get some images of ducks in front of some boat docks at sunset with some interesting colors. Tide was low and the were few ducks so we worked hard to get any images at all. This is an extreme crop of a drake that was going for the bread crumbs and cracked corn we were tossing. Cropped well over 50%.

For those of you that want to see the whole bird, I posted in the SoCal forum at http://www.naturescapes.net/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?t=8578.

Nice posture, Mike. The eye looks a little soft in the crop, but the full image looks good. I like the hint of gold on the water.

Really nice -- you did well to seperate the head from the BG considering both are as dark as they are.

Very nicely done. A very handsome specimen and the golden water is a nice touch.

Very nice shot. Getting the green on his head is tough but you managed to do that well. :D

Mike,

Very nice. The image quality looks good for an extreme crop. I like the water drops on the bird.

Looks real good for an extreme crop. The alert stretched out neck gives him a very comical look. Alex's Daffy Duck comment is pretty close.
