From the backyard at this time of year you can find these guys/gals competing with the Juncos for feeder time. Thanx for looking.

I like the lighting, the BG, the perch, and the angle of the bird. Great job with the fill flash. IMO, f/7.1 may have given you more of the tail without bringing in too much of the BG. But this is great as is.

Hi Brian,

I think this is really nice although I agree that it looks a little dark as presented. I very much like the way the bird is tucked into the corner with the tail pointing into the URH corner. That's a pretty cool perch too.

Nice capture Brian, I find it's difficult with these guys, they are never still enough. I feel the image a tad on the dark side too, but any brighter and you would have lost the white throat, the most important part.

Lovely bird, I would kill for a little more DOF, Also would have to agree with Alan being a tad on the dark side, But what a wonderful bird!!!

The angle on the bird shows off the coloring on the crown very well. A nice change from the more typical side view.
