Canon 1D, 300 2.8 + 2xTC, handheld
I considered cloning out the blurred trees, but decided not to. What do you think?

Nice sharp photo and close-up. I'm sure the flash experts will point out the benefits flash would have on this capture. I'd leave the trees in.

Earl, a second later and you would have lost him. I would leave the leaves. The bird is a little soft and could have used some Fill flash to compensate for the harsh light.

Earl,

This is an excellent Motif shot!! The wing timing is great. I would leave in the top leaves but clone out the spots on the bottom edge of the frame.

Great wing spread, fill-flash could have helped as well, the leaves are fine and part of the image being OOF and in the BG, Congrats!!! 8)

Sometimes I am amazed at how opposite I think from everyone else here...I would remove the leaves as they distract my eyes from the bird.

A good wingspread here. as mentioned a bit of FF if possible would have been nice but generallya good image. Everything else has been covered.
