This was taken after the outing on Sunday in the afternoon.

Canon 1D 500mm f4 2x, Tripod Ball head Leveling head Sidekick, Manual exposure sunny 16 1/1000 @ f10, Auto focus.

Hi Jimmy, This one is way beyond inspiring; it is incredible. Do you prefocus manually when using the 2X? I am not sure if most folks realize how difficult this image was to make... Photographing a dart with a 2X is not that easy. Best, Artie

:D :D :D WOW. Terrific capture, you have obviously mastered the art of flight shots. Even the lovely blue water has come out well and not totally blurred.

Artie I usually prefocus on something close to infinity then pick the bird up as far away as possible and wait till it's big enough in the frame and fire the shutter by focusing to infinity the lens has only one way to go so it hunts less.
