Eared Grebe

These fellows were ubiquitous at the boardwalk at Bolsa Chica. Most had orange eyes but the red is far more dramatic. I'd appreciate someone educating me on what the difference in eye color signifies.

10D, 600IS ISO 200, f11 because he was so close, full frame, EV-1.7

Excellent shot. I like the refection. You did well in what looks like a tough exposure situation. The beautiful eye adds a nice spalsh of color to the image.

Jim, Wonderful capture of a wonderful bird, I also wish I could had followed you there as well!!! :wink: But a man can't be in two places at the same time!!!!, The ones with red eyes have had to much Chardonnay for dinner, the other ones just had Orange juice!!! :wink:
