I made this image during my lunch stop at Lovers Key Park on the way to Little Estero Lagoon, Fort Myers Beach. It is on the right side of the road just before you cross last bridge, if I remember. I was trying to get some flyight shots of resident Ospreys, which were mating, while this White Ibis was flying nearby. Quickly pointed my lens and grabed 3 shots. This is the last one and as sharp as I never seen before - may be side-lighting helped?

The light is a bit harsh and the shadow on the neck is a bit distracting but I like the position of the bird and the light coming through the wings.

EOS 10D + 400/5.6L, full frame

The backlighting on the wings really makes this a nice image. I think the curve of the shadow on the neck actually adds to the image and I love the blue of the sky.

I think this is excellent. The shadow on the neck barely stands out unless your looking for something to nit. Like the others, I love the translucent wings.
