I went to Wakodahatchee yesterday to see if there was anything going on and I was pleasantly surprised. The weather was great (for a change) and the activity was pretty good.

I like the diagonal composition. The color and light are nice as well. I would have burnt in tthe branch to tone it down a bit. All in all, very nice and thanks for sharing.

Hey, this is a pretty cool shot! I too like the diagonal, and how the bird is creeping down the stem. The plumage has a pleasant, soft look to it, and I like that I can see the back with the richer tones.

I like this a lot; the composition is unusual and everything else looks good on my monitor. Nice lighting effects!

Bob,
Very nice shot. A little lower angle would have been better, but still awfully nice. Exposure looks right on the money - I can see lots of detail.

Robert,

Nice job. Good pose with the perch being diagonal and clean BG.

Bruce,

I am not sure if you have ever been to Wako, I was as low as it is possible to get, I was shooting from the very bottom of the boardwalk through the bottom rail. Thanks for the suggestion, I would if I could, If you know what I mean.

Robert,

What makes this work so well for the strong side lighting you have here, is the angle the bird is to the light. Would have liked a little more room in front of him.

Interesting shot! I had to study it awhile to decide what I thought, which means you made me think! :) It reminds me a bit of some of JJ Audubon's paintings, the unusual perspective and pose and composition, with the habitat visible but deemphasized. Nice going!

Nice capture and framing, Bob!
Perhaps just a slight increase in contrast may make the color pops ...
