 California Brown Pelican, Huntington Beach, CA This seemed appropriate for the Motif and also appropriate because we are headed west in the morning! It was taken two years ago under a dark bridge near Bolsa. This is a vertical (square-ish) crop from the original horizontal to emphasize the head and pouch. I intentionally made the background black in-camera by using flash as main light. Comments welcomed! EOS 1V, EF 600/4 IS, 1.4TC, Velvia and flash as main light. Greg Downing
