Very nice. You really captured the colours here, lovely red and greens.

Well, Harvey....you have quite a handsome dude here. Just one of several birds that I see at my feeders every day....and yet have a good image. This one is very nice. The only thing that I would prefer would be not to see the seeds and/or a different perch.

So would I :D but this is one of the few skittish birds in Florida and they're usually gone in a heartbeat :D

Excellent image of this bird. The image seems a little washed out on this monitor. It looks like it needs a slight contrast adjustment.

A very nice shot although I do think there is a bit too much space on top which a crop could easily take care of. If this Cardinal comes to this post for seed regularly, you may be able to set-up a perch a few feet from it that the bird stages on prior to going to the seed and get some really nice pictures on a natural perch with no feed.

Harvey, One way that has worked for me is to attach a small perch to the stump and cover the seed with cardboard. Cut a small hole in the middle of the cardboard so the cardinal can see the seed. He will hesitate to land on the cardboard and should land on the perch to check things out first.

Nice photo.

A natural perch would really make this sing. Beautiful bird though. :D

Alan: Thanks for the tip! :D

cheers, Oliver

I'll second what EJ said, with an added get the same BG! The OOF pattern & color in the BG is great.

Harvey,

Very nice shot. This is a good looking specimen with beautiful colors. Definitely worth a try to attach a perch to the post. nice work.

This is exactly how I handle the cardinals in my yard.
Love the colors and what a handsome dude.
