I took this image last week on Jamica Bay in New York from my in laws deck while visiting for the holidays. I was following the Mallard in my viewfinder when he started this behavor. This is my favorite shot from the series. Slight crop from the top and sides.

Canon 10D, 100-400mm @ 400mm, 1/640 sec., f8.0 -2/3 ISO 100

Thanks for looking.

Beautiful color and action. I'd like him a little further offcenter, or centered in a vertical frame, but excellent as is.

This is wonderful! There is just enough blur to the wings and I love the contrast of the action compared to the calm water.
