Snow Goose, Bosque del Apache NWR, NM

I have browsed through my 2003 Bosque stuff briefly, but have been sparing NSN of the images for the most part. I haven’t had time to process much and will probably get around to editing this year’s images in 2006. ;)

Meanwhile, while casually browsing, I can easily spot my favorites. This is one of them taken in late afternoon light about 5 minutes before the sun fell behind the mountains.

This bird is an intermediate between a white and dark morph, showing little dark on the breast. I find the intermediates quite attractive and interesting.

Comments welcomed!

EOS 1D, EF 600/4 IS, 1/1250 @ f5.6, ISO 250.

Great shot Greg! I envy your situation of having more images than you know what to do with... if you want to solve that problem, go to med school. ;) Wish I could be at the Escape in NJ, but I'm out of town!

Yea, you've been leaving it up to me to bore NSN with my image. At the rate I'm going, I'll get to post an image from this time of day in September. :D

Nicely done. 8)

With photos like this, it becomes difficult to return to Dead Creek, VT, doesn't it? Nice one.

Now that's a Snow Goose! It's not about subject, technology, or frame rate; it's about light, color, action, background, and art.

Lovely tones in the image overall, and great position of the bird in flight. Sweet!

Besides the bird being caught at a perfect time, the BG and light are to die for...perfect!
