Brown Pelican, La Jolla Beach
EOS 10D, ISO 100, 100-400 @ 330, 1/50, f5.6, tripod
Recently purchased the 100-400 IS & got a chance to play with it at La Jolla on the weekend before Christmas.
Any comments or advice greatly appreciated.
Thank You,
Corey Deards

Corey, Welcome to NSN !!! Terrific capture of this pelican with excellent details throughout!! I know your west coast ones are lots more colorful than ours in Florida, but I may be seeing a slightly blue cast. Great first post!! 8)

I like the pose on the sheer cliff, but I agree with Jill, that there seems to be a lot of blue....

Cheers,

You have a good cliff hanger here...very nice. I do see a slight blue cast...shouldn't be hard to fix.

Aside from the mentioned very slight color cast and very nice pose and first post. Congrats!

Nice shot! Good composition and exposure. Correcting the blue cast will make this excellent.

I guess you really do need to calibrate your monitor often. I have a colorvision spyder but had not used it in quite some time, hope this looks better?
Thanks

I love the repost! For my taste I would crop a little more off the top though.

Thanks for sharing!

I like the wings-up alert pose. Wish the bill tip wasn't tucked behind the wing though. I like the cliff perch, it's a refreshing change from the usual view of these guys.
