I have taken the suggestions provided and made this image. Let me know what you think. I think this is over-sharpend - I think my Photoshop skills still need to be honed, but I appreciate any comments.

The composition could not be better for my taste, the BG bokeh is just superb, few lenses can provide such a wonderful effect, not to sound contrarian, but I find the bird a tad soft on the important parts and artifacted slightly on his face, The longer you play with PS, the better you'll get, if I can do the little I know so will you!!! Congrats!!!
8) 8) 8) Just for the composition!!!

A nice improvement Christoph. I think the big crop has hurt the sharpness a bit, but still a very nice image.

Just a sidenote: You dont have to wait days to do a repost. You can make the suggested changes and repost it in your original thread to get immediate feedback.

I have to admit that I liked the wider angle of the first comp a little better because it gave me a better sense of place.

I love the composition here but it may have compromised the sharpness of the bird. I'd play with it in PS and see if you can get a little more USM without some of the artifacts.

I know, but because I have so little time to begin with, my post was bumped to the second page. I thought a new post would get more attention...

I like the composition and head turn, whites are hot and I do think the image is slightly oversharpened.
