During the next few weeks many photographers will head for the La Jolla cliffs for the Pelicans. They (the Pelicans :D ) are looking very good already. It occured to me that like Bosque goose and crane images, it becomes more and more difficult to capture images that are different or unique of these Pelicans. So this week I think I'll post images of Brown Pelicans that at least for me are different from those I've captured in the past.

I do wish his head had been turned a little more towards me but it is what it is. Just another reason to keep trying.

Inspiring and time to go south to La Jolla. Yes, getting unique shots is not easy. YOu did very wellwith details and capture with the 100-400 and a 10D. Not the easiest combination to get flight shots, but you show that you have learned how to do it. Now, to mount it on my Jeep.

You should offer to take orders on this ornament. I expect to get out there to shoot Friday AM.

 This is GREAT! The wing position is perfect and I like the raised feet. The head turn would have been   , but you can't have everything :P .

This is certainly a unique angle. Very nice breeding plumage too. The horizon is nice to help ground this unusual approach angle. Congrats!
