Another from our review of the year...a very good project for a cooler winter afternoon. Been awhile since I posted in the Avian gallery as well.
The plovers come to our area in early June and are a real sign that the spring has arrived. They start to nest along the top and sides of the eskers and along the flatter areas along the rocky shores. In out travels out we carefully watch for them as it is so easy to disturb them and even possible to destroy a nesting area. Once found and with a slow and careful approach we can get within a safe distance for some photos. This mother was quite comfortable with my approach for a couple intimate moments. Canon D30 100-400 IS ISO 100 F5.6 Thanks for looking comments always welcome. The McLarty's :)
