Since it seems to be Prothontary week here, here's one from last May at the Killbuck Marsh Wildlife Area in Ohio.

Canon EOS3, 600IS + 2x
fill flash probably at -1 1/3 or less
Provia 100F, pushed 1 stop

I always fall for the cute birds on a stick images. 8) (Remember, it's smaller than an Eagle so it has to be cute. )

Technically a very good image and one that I would like to have in my files. The pose of the bird looks stiff. Are you sure that this isn't stuffed ala the kingfisher image sited in the general discussion forum?
Just a little pre-labor day, sick humor on my part.

Beautiful, I love the contrast between the bright color of the bird and the gorgeous deep green background.

Nice clean image Robert! This is one that my files are very weak on.

Your warbler collection is the finest that I've ever seen. This is just one of the many great shots you have. The colors, details and clean backgrounds never cease to amaze me. Outstanding!!!!

Bob,

Gorgeous shot. The colors look great. You certainly found a nice clean background and a very natural looking perch.

Bob, you know I'd love this. I drooled over it when I saw it on your website. One of the cleanest backgrounds I've seen from you, and I know you like to show habitat. This is also a great looking specimen.

Bob,
One of the very best Prothonotary Warbler shots I have seen. Love the perch and the BG.

Bob -

This is great! Not only is the BG clean, but the color compliments the bird and the perch.

Good job!

Wonderful, deep rich color here - bird and background both. Nice pose as well.

Almost missed this one. Phenomenal shot Robert! I am going to have to expand my range and make it to some of the locations you've recently mentioned in your posts. The best view I have had of this species was through tons of brush at Magee Marsh.
