Nikon D1X ED 400mm f/3.5 2X Manual Focus f/7 (I think because the camera does not record the f-stop on this lens) 1/640 ISO 125 Ergo Rest Multi-tripod 50% of Full-frame, photographed in Clearwater, Florida.

I know you guys are going to kill me for this one, the DOF was too shallow and yes, I did not use flash fill. :-)

Comments and suggestions for improvement (sans flash fill  ) are greatly appreciated, thanks,

Bill

This is a sweet image, Bill. I don't see anything wrong with the DOF nor a need for fill.

Bill:

There is nothing wrong with this picture. It is very sharp, well composed, excellent exposure and light. I love the eye.

You need to work on your critical skills,--the photo is excellent, better than many published NOMOs.

Excellent! A slight shift of the camera to the right would have made for a perfect composition. Still wonderful.

Lovely photo Bill.................does this species of cactus not have spines or did you perhaps remove them?

It has spines, I didn't have time to do any pruning but it's a great idea! lol

Extremely nice. I really like the way the bird is looking out into the right hand side of the frame.

An excellent shot, Bill!
Love the co-ordinated colors of the subject, cactus and bg. Agree with Greg's comment on the composition ...
