Hey folks,

Balde is an Olde English word meaning 'white'.

Anyway, Tony's recent sandhills made me think of this image .. a good example of why I think an artist's primary focus should be on 'idea'. Think about what you want to express, what you wish to portray or evoke and then begin to deal with the how. Exemplary technique must be nice, I admit, but it's no more than a vehicle of expression. It may be the fuel that burns the fire, but I'm more interested in the spark that ignites it.

Happy New Year, bird people!

Cheers

Carl

Wonderful moment, great exposure, nice detail and a great capture to boot!!, This is close to what Tony "Titanium Shutter" Medici  is planning for his upcoming Homer shoot!!, Fish in talons close up!!, You came close to his idea!!
They say average photographers capture the moment as presented, the more learned ones look for the best possible way to make what's available better, the truly good ones plan and envision what they want to capture and most often succeed, but for the truly gifted (Can not be learned or achieved no matter how many classes you take) the images come into their dreams, the images to come they can sense, they can visualized them to the most minimal detail, can smell them as well as taste them, Blessed be those who can, for without them the light would be wasted in the beauty that surrounds us.
I, for one am trailing those learned ones and it is still a lot of fun!!
Congrats!! Lovely image!!! 8)

Nice shot. I like how the water is trailing off of its claws.

This is very nice. You made me go look at my eagle images which I haven't done in a while. I found some new images that I like that are similar. Now I'll have to start thinking about what I'm really going to do for the upcoming trip.

Alex, I want two eagles arguing over a fish but I'd gladly take one or two dozen like this too. :D Nice motif image. If I wasn't running the "Day at Bosque", I would have done the same. :)
