Not as comical as the first Crane Dance I posted but still this one makes me laugh. Of course I was there to see all the antics so I doubt the post can have the same reaction. While grabbing morning take off flights at the Bosque Crane Pools a few Cranes were determined not to go and instead performed the strangest dances...I grabbed a few frames and like these more than my other general Crane photos. Thanx for looking.

Love the stance, warm light and the vertical. Maybe just a touch of FF would highlight the face a bit more.

Brian, I'm thinking FF is Fill Flash.

Great shot. Could go a bit brighter.

Agreed -- touched it up a notch. I think it is time to recalibrate my Monitor; I have been getting the same crit on my latest posts.

Killer Brian. Fill would have killed the golden light in this shot and it would hit the wings more than the face, likely making them too bright. It's wonderful as is.

This is a wonderful image. The fact you were able to not only capture this "dance" but also with no other birds in the frame. GREAT JOB!

The light is nice as is the birds pose. It does look just a bit contrasty.

I tend to agree with E.J., I usually turn the contrast down during processing, reducing the harsh shadows in this type of image. Still a fine action shot that I'm surprised you were able to isolate. Nicely done. :)
