Hey Griffen, Nice shot. Here's what I would do. I would crop up a bit just above the very OOF grass, Then a 1/4 off the right and about 1/5 off the top. I'd also clone out that light bit at the tip of the bill, and maybe a catchlight.

Maybe something like this. BTW...there's a catchlight in the eye that I brought out just by highlighting the eye with the dodge tool a few times.

Griffin, very nice image as is, love the bird looking at you as well !!
I would keep the same BG color/exposure, I just changed it to give you an idea of the crop that would work well, a little more fill-flash as the bird shows right now and just a touch to enhanced the catch-lite present, a touch of selective sharpening at 9% on certain area of the face/eye with a small brush and a touch of the feather edges should also help!!
Still a very nice image! Congrats!! 8)

Nice catch. I would crop heavily top and right to get the bird off-center.
