Striated Caracara
Carcass Island, Falkland Islands

I thought this would be appropriate for this weeks motif. The striated caracaras in the Falklands were the most approachable birds of prey I have ever seen. We did have to be careful though as they are known to 'attack' or hit humans with their talons.

Canon EOS3 with 100-400 IS on tripod, Provia 100F, min crop from the top.

Beautiful shot. Was the bird yawning or calling?
