Red-shouldered hawk

This FL red-shouldered hawk was taken last spring as the sun sank below the horizon. The bird had just finished bathing and flew up to this roadside post.

Nice shot Paul!

He sure does look a bit ratty on the wings, but I guess thats from being wet. You did a great job with my new lens.

Good eye. Yeah, the light might have been a little too flat, although I like the soft tones.
It was shot just after the sun went below the horizon and I didn't take the extra time to get my flash set up as the light was fading fast. Flash would have redendered a different look to the shot and it might have changed the mood a little too much.
