Gitzo, sidekick, 50% of full frame

OK, so he's not catching any flies. Maybe next time :D . But he is very Vermilion. Many thanks to Richard Mittleman for the directions to where this guy hangs out at the El Dorado Regional Park in Long Beach, CA. I spent about three hours with this flycatcher (he's the only one there) and I plan to go back for more.

Nice placement of the bird. The perch is a little overwhelming but still a good shot. The background is wonderful.

I love this image. The drab background and big perch are completely overshadowed by that little jewel of a bird IMO.
