American Wigeon, Socorro, NM

I just processed this and included it in our newsletter last week. I got as low as I could for this one, laying on my belly with my tripod legs in the water. I also used a fair amount of focal length to further reduce the angle. I do wish I had a tad more DOF, but am glad to have gotten one calling.

Comments welcomed!

EOS 10D, EF 600/4 IS, 1.4TC, ISO 200, full frame.

Great shot, any lower and you would be shooting his feet.

If that's what it takes to get an image like this, I guess I'll just have to get wet. Beautiful shot and I do love the open beak.

Great capture Greg. The perfect exposure really brings out all the colors and details. The open bill is icing on the cake.
