Mallard Hen Central Texas

After the Mallard Drake I was intrigued by the blues in the Mallard Hen. I wish the blues were closer to the head so I could get a nice head and shoulders shot.

This was taken Christmas morning in the same session with the Drake. Conditions were overcast and low light conditions.

Gorgeous plumage. My only wish would be a slightly lower shooting angle.

First I have seen of such good blue in the female mallard. I agree with the lower angle but would take this in a heart beat.

Very nice. I like how well you were able to capture the color of the speculum. 8)

She's very pretty! While a lower angle would be nice I like the view of the plumage here.
