Towards the end of one evening at Bosque I tried my luck at following cranes and hoping to time the shutter release with them passing near the moon. The exposure was a compromise between the moon and the more dimly lit SHC's. I wasn't sure how much movement blur I'd get with the moon because of panning the lens across it, but it looks like the OOF moon masked whatever there was.

You did very well here. Looks like you had enough shutter speed to not get a blurred moon. It's only OOF, which is common for close birds and a long lens. :) Cool shot, I didn't get one as nice due to clouds on the night I was trying.

What a cool shot. I didn't have that opportunity while I was there. Always something different at Bosque. Nice job!

I like the complementary position of the cranes. Wish the moon were somewhere else in the frame, but still a very nice capture. Congrats.

Beautiful composition with just the right bit of detail in the silhouette.

Cool shot!! I would like to see the birds approaching the moon instead of passing it but this is excellent as is.

Neat shot. I just returned, but we only had a sliver of a moon when I was there. Have to go back closer to full moon. The bird positions are great, the moon, as mentioned is just ok, but working there is not easy and this is pretty good in spite of the moon position. Lucky to get them together. Next challenge is to get them across the sun.
Good luck.
