This is an old image of mine from about 10 years ago. I was looking through slides, saw this, and thought it would fit nicely with the motif.

Canon T-90, Tokina 400MM F/5.6, Fujichrome Provia, Photoshop, cloned out an open area in the upper left, usm.

10 years ago, outdoor flash wasn't as prevalent as it is today. It could have really turned this into an awesome photo. The photo is composed well.

I remember seeing this bird. You could be looking right at the tree and not see the bird. This is a very good picture of a Long-eared Owl. The picture shows the bird much better that the human looking at the bird.

Nice -- aside from fill flash useage I kinda like the individual eye shining through.

I'll respectfully disagree with others' comments and say that this photo is better off as is, without any fill flash. I think it could only have detracted from what is beautiful ambient light.

I'm not crazy about the branch-shadow across the bird's wing, but nature rarely provides us with exactly what we want.

Very nice! I would love to this this species out in the open like this. I actually like the unusual lighting here.
