I like being able to see all the birds color, as well as how the branch to the right somewhat mirrors him/her. The light is a bit harsh and not being able to see any of the birds face are major nits. I'm curious about your thoughts.

All comments and suggestions appreciated. Thanks!

Tom,

This is one of those photos where if you had the birds head turned to the side it would be an incredible photo. Although the light is harsh it works weel here. The perch, leaves and BG are just beautiful. Please tell me that you got at least one frame with the face showing :)

OK I see you are from my neck of the woods -- where did you get this guy/gal?? I have been after on for the better part of a few years.

I agree with Alan and hope you did get one shot with a head turn. Love the colors in the posted image.

Yes, I do have a few with the bird's face showing unfortunately they are either unacceptably soft or there is too much distracting vegetation.

I am just a half hour from there -- what time of year did you get this shot?

The colors in this image are great, but I would really like to see the over the shoulder look.

Brian: I can't remember the exact date, but I believe it was late April. It's hard to miss them because if there is one there usually will be a couple dozen more.

Just spent time on the site and will make plans to go there next week to see if there is anything this time of year.
If you have a chance email me with some info on what other birds I might expect to find there -- the site was a bit thin. TIA.
