Common Goldeneye Bucephala clangula

It seems like when the pickings get slim around here, there's always something at Belmar. Most of the ponds around here are covered with ice but have small open areas for the ducks to swim.

This was taken this afternoon after we got some of the Canada Geese to break up the ice so the ducks could come closer. ;)

Sweet. I like the bow wave and the background ripples.

Bill, you handled the tough exposure quite nicely. That eye really grabs you.

The bow wave is a nice touch.

Great shot! Nice light, well exposed and you caught some of the irridescent green in his head. Well done!

Bill,

Great shot. The water, the light, the exposure, the eye, the green iridescence...I like it all.

Nice !

I would crop off the left 30% and the right 10%, resulting in a vertical.

Very nice! I love the way the gold eye stands out against the dark head. I also like the bow wave.
