Male evening grosbeak, Adirondack Mountains, Canon 10D, Canon 100-400, F5.6, tripod, IS off, ISO 200

These birds flock to north country feeders on a very irregular basis, sometimes missing for 6 years.

Wow, this is great. I haven't seen many good photos of this species for some reason. It's a handsome subject! The exposure is perfect for the snow, though a slight curves adjustment might help bring out more detail in the bird's face and eye. A little close at the bottom and the seed is a minor nit. Overall an excellent shot!

Jeff, Nice shot of a bird I want to shoot real bad. Looks a bit soft to me. Sweet shot.

Nice shot of a nice looking bird. Be good to see a litlle more detail in the face. The snow already looks looks close to over to me, but you'd be better off listening to Greg on that one.

This is a real beauty. I agree that a little tweaking might bring out some more detail....but I certainly like it as is. Excellent.

Nice shot. A little PS work and perfect. I used to see these at my feeder when I lived in the Adirondacks years ago but haven't seen one since. Congrats.
