This adult male is hanging around in El Dorado Park in Long Beach, Ca.
He was there last winter also, but I didn't get any images of him then.
There is also a juvenile Vermillion Flycatcher there and I also got images of it today.

Pretty spectacular Richard! The pose, perch and BG are right on. A crop to remove the bottom foliage would also work... maybe a bit more USM.

Richard,

Excellent shot. I like it all - pose, perch, colors, and background.

The foliage balances the bird and says something about the time of year. Wouldn't touch a thing. Wonderful color. Only the spelling of Vermilion needs cropped.

Beautiful bird and great background. I'm ambivalent about the foliage on the bottom.

I like it as is. Cropping the foliage would be a mistake IMHO. The lighting is perfect!

Richard,

Wonderful capture. Beautifully posed. The only time I've ever seen these they have been on wires.

Richard, this is too wonderful for words - this sweet little bird, and I love this tender perch. Your work has become truly exceptional. I love this.

I like it as posted - would not change anything. The USM looks just right too. Great capture!

This is simply stunning! I would love to see this bird in this plumage. Just about perfect.

One of the better shots I have seen of the little masked bandit. Very well done.
