I was out doing the annual Christmas Bird Count for the Audubon Chapter of Minneapolis today. We stopped at an area along the Mississippi River just North of downtown Minneapolis to check for owls in some conifers. I found this imprint of a Ring-necked pheasant (Phasianus colchicus) that had landed in the snow. You can see the foot marks in the snow to the upper right of the tail pattern. While it is not an image of a bird it is the imprint which I thought was appropriate for this forum.

Regards and Happy Holidays!

Terry, what an awesome photo. I love how you used the light to bring out the imprint. The sparkles in the snow set it off nicely too.

I agree with Alan about the use of the light. The shadows really make a nice graphic in the snow.

Great shot!!

Terry,

Very neat image. Tom Murphy has an image of imprints in the snow which tells the story of a raptor capturing a rodent. This reminds me of his image. Well done.
Enjoy viewing
