To say that I was excited to finally see Amer. Wigeon in a shootable spot at Santee Lakes this past week is an understatment. This male was with his mate hanging out among the Wood Ducks and Ring-necks. With a bit of cracked corn, I soon found out how tame (and hungry) they were. For a half hour this handsome drake swam back and forth to keep my skills sharp. 12-17-03. Full frame. Cloned out one highlight in its eye.

Awesome detail Mike. I might take a tad off the bottom.

Nicely done. I'm in agreement on the bottom crop.

Handsome image. For printing, I might select the forehead and bill, invert, and slightly lighten the background and the darker parts of the bird.

Just excellent...and I'd crop a little from the bottom as well. You are so lucky to have some friendly, cooperative and/or hungry ducks around. I'm rather "duckless" here at the moment.

Just adorable. I love these little duckies. They really do seem to love cracked corn. John Fortner and I had one of these guys stalking us for corn two weekends ago. :)

Great image Mike. This past weekend I think I saw everything except the Wigeon.
