The Green Jay image was taken from a wooden blind that I built, on March 06, 2003, Juan Bahamon and I photographed from 2 of these blinds on the Tomahawk Ranch, near Orange Grove Tx, 40 miles west of Corpus Christi Tx. We were contestants in a wildlife photo contest sponsored by the Coastal Bend Land Trust, the contest was slide film only, this was one of the few digital images that I shot.

Canon 1D
600.0mm 1/320 sec, f/8.0
Mode: Av Metering: Evaluative
ISO: 200 AF mode: One-shot AF
Drive: Continuous (high): frame 1
Flash: External E-TTL High speed sync
Flash exp comp: -1

Thanks for looking,

Very nice David. As you know I shot out of the same blinds and they were very comfortable. I was pretty well set in there! This image is very nice. The perch is great with the added moss, although I don't care for the cut end showing. The bird is tack sharp with good dof. I would suggest a bump in contrast. Very nice. BTW are the blinds still there and in use?

Overall a very nice shot -- If there were anything I would do it would be to bump the saturation a touch.

David, Great shot of this bird. Love the OOF BG and the mossy stump. agree with the bump in contrast.

Lovely shot, David. A tweak in Curves would make it pop.

The first version hums. The tweaked version sings. A very beautiful image. Love the color and the composition. Great detail too! Thanks for sharing.

Very, very nice. I knew that with a little levels adjustment it would really pop.

When I saw the first image I thought it was terrific but needed a little contrast.....then I saw the repost. Oh wow.....this is excellent. I love the color of these guys and it really pops!! Nice job!

Nice image. What I especially like is that the tweak in the second image was done judiciously and not overdone.
